[[Ooc :: YAY! Tempest~ Calling all old, new, prospective Vampire Alliance members. Calling the puppies. And calling anyone else who feels why would like to play. A warning though; Tempest may not seem all that motherly but Do. Not. Mess. With. Her. Family. =D Good luck!]]

Things had calmed down the last three weeks. Tempest Lyght and Slain had settled into parenthood, regardless of the way their offspring had come about. The only wrench in the machinery had been Zegin's presense which Slain hated but Tempest had taken a liking to it. She had convinced him to hunt for her children, discovering their curious breed. Half-vampires, the lot of them. It was an odd way for things to happen, even more peculiar because she hadn't been created while pregnant, not really. The mother had allowed Zegin to stay with them, at least most days. There was always the threat that if he pissed her off, which was often, that she'd force him to find shelter elsewhere. Slain certainly wouldn't go about complaining if she did.

Calming down might have been a good thing but the more they settled, the more she was pulled North. She waited as long as she could, the little rats were able to at least walk properly now albeit wobbly. It was time to leave. She decided and if it wasn't completely obvious, she called the shots. The sun had just set and the air was chilly, she left Slain with the kids and headed out for a run. She hated that vampires had to take to hiding in the sunlight. Tempest had always found it cowardly and to be honest, she was a little jealous that her children didn't have to. Hiding meant that she was apart from her storm cloud most days and that unsettled her so getting out to romp around was a nice get away. She was thin from the lack of hunting and her coat fell a little loose where it would normally be muscle bound. The night air curled its cold fingers in her pelt and she reveled in it. Her cloud wasn't visible, too dissipated to see, but she could feel it just there, the electric pulse reaching out to her. She took in a breath simple to feel the chill in her lungs before whipping herself around on the sharpest turn she could manage in order to head back.

It was time to leave. The little ones were old enough, they were ready. She slowed to a halt just before the mouth of the cave, sending bits of snow showering inside. "Slain, Zegin, She stepped inside, stretching her wings and folding them close before she got too far in. "We're moving tonight. Let's go." Tempest turned with a flick of her white tail and sat down a few feet out, waiting for them to follow.

Reshaping history

Postby Azala on Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:20 am

They say that history is constantly in flux.

Some points are fixed in certainty, while others are variable.

All in all, time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so, when you happened to be immortal and ageless.

His name was Riddick, and he had been around since the birth of time. He had slept for ages, only now awakened when a new heartbeat rose on the wings of the air. It was a heartbeat he had known before, and it caused a twinge of fear to course through him. She had been human then, but he didn’t doubt she was still dangerous. He had to get rid of the intrusion now, before she changed the course of history again. Rising from his lair, he brushed an affectionate nuzzle against his mate’s cheek before taking to the air.

He had to find her.

---

A single choice could change the course of history. She knew this- always had.

When her brother woke, so did she.

Like her brother before her, she took to the skies, searching for the same soul, vowing to protect her better in this life than she had in her previous incarnation.

And Sephora never broke a vow.

---

While the players arranged themselves, however, their target remained completely oblivious.

---

“Daddy!” A high-pitched, female voice yelped, accompanied by a 'BUMP', a 'THUMP', and a low, baritone chuckle. She giggled too, snuggling against the crimson-splashed coat of her sire. She was ‘daddy’s little girl’ to the extreme. Her father nuzzled into her pelt, inhaling the scent that was pure Azala, and she felt him relax. Somehow being with her always relaxed him- he always praised her and her brother for being Dark Angellics, not monsters like him.

But Daddy wasn’t a monster! He was big and strong and brave! And he loved them, unlike Mommy. Well, Mommy didn’t like ANYONE, so it wasn’t surprising that Mommy wasn’t as glamorized in her puppy mind. “Love you, princess.” Her father rumbled, nuzzling against her ruff in a tender moment that, to the naked eye, was simply a father and daughter- breed had nothing to do with it.

“And I love you, Daddy.” She chirped, licking his cheek before leaping up as her mother called for Daddy. She looked up expectantly. “We goin’ to see?”

“Of course.” He waited for her, walking slowly so she could keep up- had he been human, he would have been holding her hand. She followed, and looked at Daddy. He stopped, and it looked like he was going to touch Mommy, but he didn’t. Instead, his ears eased back and he sat, too, a few inches from Tempest. She plopped down in front of him, her little rump on the ground, as she looked up.

She didn’t like snow.

Good thing Daddy was there to keep it from falling on her.
"Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality?"

It had been a few precious weeks, and the world had settled. He had settled, quite comfortably, into fatherhood. Despite their dubious beginnings, he loved his pups with every fiber of his being- unlike their mother (his sun, moon… starlit sky) the pups were capable of love, of affection. Oh, of couse Tempest WAS capable of it, but she was not as free with emotions as he was- or as her human self was. And Slain missed that.

Currently, Azala was lounging with him, as was her usual wont. She usually slept with him during the day, as well. She understood, somewhat, why he valued her so much. She smelled of life- of youth, and he could never get enough of it. She was stirring now, though, and, after a huge yawn, she leapt. He fell to his side, chuckling, as she bit his ear before snuggling with him. “Daddy!” He grinned, nuzzling into her crimson-stained ruff which matched his own vibrantly marked coat.

“Love you, princess.” He’d always called her that. She was his princess- she had her mother’s lovely form and shape, and promised to one day be as lovely as Tempest.

“And I love you too, Daddy!” The words warmed his chilled heart, and he nuzzled her again, unable to stop the affection. Abruptly, both ears shot forward as he heard his name called. His daughter looked up, and he chuckled at her impatient words before answering, affectionately, “Of course.”

He kept his paces short so Azala could keep up, and as they approached, the overwhelming urge to nuzzle against Tempest’s coat filled him. But he fought it, ears back in shame, as he lowered himself to the ground. True to form, Azala shot over under his chest, peering out with those oddly-colored eyes.
She shows the world up with a smile,
And then she throws the fight...

True to his nature, Seirei kept to himself the past few weeks, discovering new things about the world around him, keeping his opinions to himself, and only himself. He didn’t talk with his father, simply keeping close to his mother. She seemed to be the only one out of the entire family unit that tolerated him. He wasn’t strong or fast, but he was agile and light on his feet in a way that none of the others were. There was a delicacy about the first born that he cherished about himself. His attention to detail, his ability to observe and take in information something he could begin to pride himself on. Seirei often spoke to his mother about things that the other children didn’t seem to be interested in, and it was easy to see that he was different in a way that made him mature.

His eyes never left the figure of his mother, keeping his line of sight on her as his head hung down just slightly. The young wolf’s chest heaved slightly, struggling to breathe clearly as a rasp had been nagging him for quite some time. Seirei gave a quiet cough, tilting his muzzle to the side to cough into his shoulder. A disturbed, almost inaudible chuff was given, but he straightened up. His eyes followed his mother as she shook snow from her wings and approached the mouth of the cavern they had been residing in.

Yellow bangs were flipped in a feminine manner from his eyes, his dainty and elegant figure propping itself within close proximity to his mother’s body. His long legs and gentle appearance put him at a distance from the others; they were still tubby little pups, but the first-born was skinny, underweight, and sick, though he still managed to take care of himself, keeping himself clean and manicured quite nicely. He brushed his shoulder against his mother’s leg, resting his head against her shoulder as he stood next to her.

Tempest Lyght was in no way affectionate, but Seirei found a comfort in her company that none other could even come close to. He loved Slain, and listened to him, but Slain’s time was spent with Azala, while Tempest’s was spent with Seirei’s. It didn’t bother him at all, and his confidence in his mother continued to grow as he found it hard to be somewhere without her eyes resting in his direction.

”Will I be okay out there..?” His voice was quiet, tinted with a worried tone as a cough slipped from his lips, despite his efforts to stifle it as he stiffened against his mother. His eyes dropped in apology, but he didn’t move away. His energy wasn’t high today, but if Mother told him to move, it would be done.

The brindle red and black pup was still asleep through the commotion. Saysa was the loner of the pups and very rarely bothered with any of them except her father. She had even given up calling Tempest mother. Considering she was nothing but the cooker they came from, Saysa felt absolutely no emotion towards her at all. Perhaps she took the rejection a little bit too harshly, but that was Saysa.

Even at a month old, she knew that she was different. She could tell that something was off with her. Daddy was the only one who cared about her. She even doubted her siblings cared about their quiet sister. The annoying noise of her "mother" talking made Saysa cringe in her sleep. Ahh that sound make it stop!

It was only then that she heard something about them moving. What mother forced her month old pups into the snow? She probably wanted to kill her kids so she could go off doing whatever she wanted. Pfft whatever. The sooner she grew up the sooner she could leave the wretched female to her own devices.

Reluctantly, little Saysa opened her eyes and immediately searched for the only one she loved in this so called family. Finding Slain with Sephora, Saysa's eyes slanted in jealously. Determined to get over to her daddy, the tiny useless paws somehow found their way beneath her. Wobbling her healthy puppy body over, she plopped herself right in her daddy's eyesight.

Daddy, why is Tempest moving us? Does she want to kill us?

Zegin....still hated pups. They were annoying, loud and...inconvenient for his bachelor life. But he was staying with Tempest (he had to), and with Slain (still wasn't his favorite person), and therefore with a group of five rats. Hey, colorful rats now, but rats nonetheless.

But he tolerated them, as Tempest did, for the sake of keeping his skin intact. No, Zegin wasn't a coward, but he knew what to do to keep himself alive.

So, he was still in the same position. Yes. The SON was a servant to Tempest. He fetched her what she wanted, got freaking food for the two parents and amused the pups when the parents were away. Oh...thank GOD I am an illusionist.... He often groaned to himself.

But....he still didn't know all the pups by name. Never cared to learn. And probably never would. He knew them by how they looked. There was Shiny, he was supposedly powerless, wingless and hung around Tempest a lot. Then there was Dark who was the darkest coloration of the pups. She apparently inherited from genes on Slain's side. Then Princess, who was Slain's favorite. Zegin may not have been a parent, or knew anything about parenting, but father's weren't supposed to have favorites....right? Anyway, there was also Mud who was an Earth Elegician. But beyond that, Zegin didn't know much. Finally there was Mutant as he called her since her feathered wings were shaped like bat's wings. Struck him as odd, but hey, a vampire having pups had pretty much done it for him on the weird scale.

Anyway, he was trying to sleep when Tempest spoke. They were leaving.... "Of course we are." He groaned quietly before standing and stretching. He was a bit larger, and if he had horns, he would be the spitting image of Cross. He shook his fur out and sighed. The pups around were questioning the move and Zegin shrugged. Tempest was Tempest, she did what she wanted. Than Dark asked Slain if Tempest was going to kill them and he barked a laugh. “Please. Tempest? Highly unlikely. Besides, your dear old dad wouldn’t let that happen.” He said before walking forward next to Tempest and whispering. “Why ARE we leaving, Temp?

--

GoldMoon had remained as reserved as possible, but when the news of the move had reached her ears she stood, paws and wings a little too big for her body, and tilted her head. “Dad?” She stepped forward, trying not to get within her dad’s personal space, that was Azala’s space only, and spoke. “How long are we going to be moving?” She asked. She knew, from her Uncle Zegin, that vampires couldn’t be in the sun and was therefore confused. There was hardly any shelter around when the sun came up....wouldn’t that end up killing her father, mother and uncle?

[[ooc :: Sorry it's taken so long. I've had a long week filled with family emergencies. Tsuchi's half sucks ;-; Hopefully Temp's will be better. I wanted this up for Koz's bday.]]

There had been very few changes over the last few weeks, Uncle Zegin was probably the only really new thing at all for the pups. This didn't exclude Tsuchi. He had taken to Zegin a bit, simply because his parents' attention fell on a specific few, but Tsuchi did have a leg up on things. Sure, Dad found Azala to be a little special princess, but it wasn't hard to remind him that he was special, too. Tsuchi had found that his aura was useful for a great many things be it grabbing his dad's attention, teasing a sibling, or simply to look cool. He was extremely partial to it. His aura wrapped around his forearm, slipping around his neck in a spiral as he lifted his head from where he slept. What was going on? Tsuchi shook his head to wake himself up and yawned, smacking his lips a couple times before getting up. The pup stretched, letting his spine crack and his white wings unfold to their full length. If he were much bigger, it would have made doing that a bit hard.

Did his mom say they were moving? He sleepily watched Azala hurry outside along side their dad, big surprise there. Tired, pale yellow eyes found more interesting scenes elsewhere, following his favorite target's movements to his mother's side. Again, not much of a surprise. At least the fact that he was always by their mom didn't mean he couldn't pick on him, it'd ruin all his fun if Mom didn't let him. He started forward slowly, ears perking and catching his brother's question. He was worried about being out here? Tsuchi couldn't blame him, it was cold... and slippery. His first step in the fresh snow had the pup paused and staring curiously at the powder. His black aura was the first thing to react, tentitively dipping towards it with the end of the apparition where the majority of it stayed not unlike the head of a snake. It seemed to sniff at it, rub against it if something that seemed so smoke-like could rub against anything. It was strange but not deep enough to cause him any problems. Most things caused Seirei problems though.

Saysa passed him and Tsuchi pulled himself back together, holding himself in a proud manner as he walked across the lightly dusted ground and plopped his butt down like it was nothing. He was between Zegin and his dad, a fairly equal distance from both. Everyone was questioning things. Would they make it? Was this a death sentence? Why was it that they were leaving? All fairly good questions, he supposed, since he wanted to know the answer to most of them while some others were just stupid. He got the impression that if their mom wanted them dead, they'd be dead, Slain be damned. He also figured that if one of them fell dead suddenly, no one would really shed a tear. Unless it was Azala, anyway. Tsuchi didn't have any questions for their mother, he was far more interested in how she would reply to everyone else. Besides, they didn't leave much to ask.

He huffed, stopping short of rolling his eyes and kept his answers to himself. 'She's not going to kill us. Yeah, you might die. But... Why are we leaving?' He didn't have an answer for that. Tsuchi might have been perfectly focussed on the conversation, but that didn't mean he couldn't play. A slow flake fell on his nose and he licked it off, pretending not to notice the way his aura slithered over to float in front of Seirei. In a more comical setting, it might have been Tsuchi sticking his tongue out at him just to instigate some action out of his brother.

--

It wasn't surprising that Slain was the first to react to her call. If she let herself think about it, she liked it. It meant he was not only paying attention to her, but made it seem like he always had time for her. Feelings like that may have been buried deep down in her white chest but that didn't mean she didn't have them. Yellow pupils watched each step he took, taking notice of the slow pace he used for Azala, and the way he hesitated before her. She took note of it but didn't make a big deal about it. They had a silent understanding that Slain wanted to express his love for her in more physical ways, nuzzling, cuddling type ways, and Slain knew that Tempest was just not that way. She had started curling up to sleep next to him again the past few nights, but that was about as close as Slain got to cuddling.

Temp lowered her head in the short amount of space between them and came nose-to-nose with Azala briefly before Seirei's company drew her attention to him. It was impossible not to see that both of the parents had their favorites. Azala was Slain's, Seirei was Tempest's. Her choice was likely confusing to most. Seirei was sickly, almost fragile, but she saw a strength in him for having made it this far. Her favorite part about him was his personality, though, and how mature he was compared to the others, possibly even more mature than she had been as a pup. He ask if he would be okay, coughing as if to foreshadow what was to come. "You better be because I won't come back for you." Tempest's voice was monotone instead of the more poison-laced sound that was expected from her with such words. Would Seirei see it as a lie? She would scare him into finding the strength to keep going if she had to.

It was right then that Saysa made her appearance. Tempest didn't pay her any attention until she opened her mouth and asked that ridiculous question. She lifted her head and sat tall, eyes narrowing at her daughter. The pup spoke like her mother wasn't there, it was annoying, she even used her name. Now, Tempest didn't care whether the pups called her some variation of mom or her name, but it was the fact that Saysa was trying to pretend she didn't exist that had her angry with her. Before she could answer, Zegin was opening his big mouth about it. Every once in a while, Tempest wondered if one of the reasons she didn't rip his throat out was because of his resemblance to Cross. Not to say she wouldn't if provoked. She merely rose a brow at Zegin's response, his confidence that he wouldn't kill them was odd. Where was he getting that idea?

The son neared her and whispered a question, why. They all wanted to know why. It was this that she answered first, every intention of answering her daughter as well. "Because, you idiot," She grumbled a little. "I said so." There was no better answer, in her opinion. She wasn't one for making up answers to cover the truth to those she thought of as subordinates. Her eyes narrowed and her rumbling grew deeper as she turned back to Saysa. "If you cannot keep up with us because you insist on whining then you are better off dead." Her voice was loud enough for all the pups to hear, she made sure of it. "If I wanted you dead, you'd be dead. There would be no reason to kill you through exhaustion. That kind of death has never been any fun to me." One more whine, that's all she needed from her before she snapped her nose off. Saysa was one reason that Tempest had taken so well to Seirei, they were complete opposites.

She let Slain handle GoldMoon's question. It was directed at him and not important or annoying enough to make her want to answer it. She had had enough of the Q&A session. With a final glance to make sure all were there and one final look back at the den site, Tempest turned around slowly, for doing so any faster would have made Seirei fall over. She started off at a casual pace but one that pushed the pups to actually work. Their destination wasn't very far. Tempest Lyght had always had to work hard as a pup in the BBA. From the moment she joined it had been all training and with Narganya being a Blitz, she had learned to travel at high speeds for as long as possible. "Let's go." She looked back once before she got a bit lost in her memories, the storm above her rumbling quietly. After a short while, she decided to speak. "You will all learn to keep up at fast paces. Half-vampires are not as fast as Fledglings. Fledglings aren't as fast as Royals either, but you will learn to keep up as I had to with Narganya." This was the only type of parenting she knew how to do, it was the kind she had preferred as a pup.

There was one thought that Tempest had been having plenty of trouble with lately. It had to deal with Cross and the Vampire Alliance. She didn't fully understand some details about it all. "Slain. Zegin." She looked first to one side, then the other to speak back to each adult. "If Cross is missing... Who is leading the Vampire Alliance?" Not to mention the other question she had; Who all did the VA include?

Slain adored his daughters. ALL of them, including Saysa and Goldmoon- but Azala was ever the favorite. Still, when his dark daughter came between his paws, he licked her lovingly and shook his head, an affectionate smile ghosting across his maw. “You are my daughter, Saysa. You’ll not perish out there- you’ve got strength in you.” He sighed. “I am half Tundra Angellic, as well, my pet. You are designed for the cold, just as I am.” But, truthfully, he worried for his daughters. Azala squirmed her way against her dark sister, offering body heat and comfort as she peered up with those oddly-colored eyes.

“Daddy won’t let anything happen.” She said it solemnly, believing in her father. Then Goldy stepped closer, and he chuckled. All of his girls, it seemed, wanted his attention. “I don’t know how long, my sweet. Mum will know best- she always does.” An apologetic look to Tempest- and a smile. She’d been letting herself curl against his side to sleep, as of late- and he enjoyed it. Not only that, he noticed that she was not so hostile anymore around him- he’d even caught her using her monotone voice with him- betraying no emotion- which meant she had at least some feelings for him. When Tempest called for them to move, he lit out quickly- his pace bouncy and assured.

He was, as Cry had put it, a Regale, as she was.

But, no- he would not let his thoughts linger on that bitch. He glanced over his shoulder- strides slowing as he took in his daughter struggling to keep up. Azala, however, was not letting it slow her down- she trotted with a vengeance, her delicate, petite frame never slowing. He knew Tempest wouldn’t push them too hard- she couldn’t for Serei’s condition- but his Dark Angellic twins would not find it easy to keep up. They were not vampires- they lacked the speed and stamina of their siblings.

Azala tumbled forward and into a snow bank with a yelp. He fought to keep from going back and coddling her- and instead turned his attention to Tempest when she spoke.

“The Vampire Alliance…” His voice purred it. “You have two main factions- us and those who supported Cursed Soul. I’ve not seen them in a long, long time. But those of us who belonged to Cross- you, me, Zegin… Embry…” He trailed off. “We are all that are left who are loyal to our race. You have the traitors, too- Cry among them. And you should know something, my dear, for it concerns you as well.

“The Hunter is no longer dormant. Indio has returned.” He sighed. “He will not stop until he has hunted our race to destruction. I had thought pack life would soften him up, make him forget. I suppose I was wrong. Of course… Evil Wind is not a place to be soft. Still, I figured if he took an oath of loyalty, he would stand by it.

“But Hunters have no pride.”

He sighed.

“But, come. Children! Come along, now, lest you be shut out of the den.”

With that, his tail flew high as he began to trot ahead again, instinctively acting as scout once again.

No one, not even Indio, would stop him from protecting his family. Not while he drew breath.
She shows the world up with a smile,
And then she throws the fight...

Zegin brushed off the sharp tongue of his sister (he'd really have to talk to his dad about Sire-ing accidentally). He didn't even flinch at her tone, and that was a feat. He chalked it up to being used to her constant abuse, verbal, physical; sometimes she meant it and sometimes that was just the way she was. It was growing accustomed to her temper and knew how to dodge it when he needed to. He vaguely reminded himself of a weasel or a rat; nah, he was too gorgeous to be any of those things.

Temp's signature sin of sarcasm must have begun to rub off on him as he kneaded the stone ever so slightly in a vague stress-relieving attempt. He wasn't gorgeous, nit like his father, though the two had been eerily similar in appearance when Zegin was a pup. But after being sired, the brute's fur lightened--shocker--to an almost mirror image of his father in the sunlight. He had also grown different marks, but Zegin still strongly resembled the legendary vampire. But, the scars from diving head-long into sunlight to see his father still remained, and his mind burned with the memory. He would sometimes look at Slain with a deeply angry look, and should the other vampire ask why, Zegin would simply reply with Don't EVER do to them what my father did to me. Afterall, when one is abandoned by your mother shortly after birth and once you can somewhat fend for yourself your father runs off on an adventure somewhere, you get a rather negative outlook on parenthood. So, the anger was never aimed at Slain, but his own parents--or rather--lack thereof.

Saysa's question had brought up the rather touchy subject of mothers not caring and Zegin found himself bristling with Temp's threats to leave the ones too weak behind. He didn't say anything, wisely holding his tongue, but his hackles raised nonetheless. They lowered again with Slain calming the girls down, but Zegin wisely chose to stay away from Temptest for a while. Her mothering was reminding him too much of his own mother, the one he had never seen in his entire life. He shrugged to the back of the pack, seemingly like the omega Temp beat him into being, but rather to clean up the tracks as they went. He was as fast as Slain, being Regale himself, and decided he'd practice the lessons of Pandora by covering the group.

The rumors of the Hunter were his only motivation. And though he didn't like--or rather loathed--puppies, he still had that God-forsaken instinct to protect them deep deep deeeeeeeeeeeeep down in his non-existent soul. Maybe that's the reason he didn't squish one and make it look like an accident.......

He eyed the first few pups dive into the snow and let a tiny smirk cover his face as Mud explored the depth. He didn't know what kind of crazy that pup was, but whatever it was, Zegin found himself not entirely hating the Earth Elegician's company and jabber. But that didn't stop the Son from teasing the pup. Rolling over on him when he slept to close, "accidentally" knocking him over when Zegin walked past, and sometimes--when Mud was really annoying--grabbing him by the scruff and dropping him in the snow. But Zegin still hated him. Totally.

GoldMoon nodded silently at her Father's response. Mum knows best. she thought with a slight nod. It was one of the few truths she had at the moment. Daddy loved all the puppies. Mommy didn't like anyone. Uncle Zegin was kinda creepy. Mommy always knew best. If anything, she was a child in that regard. Her parents could do no wrong and always knew what to do.

Her father spoke a little and she picked up brief pieces of the conversation. Hunter? Indio? She sighed, confused and looked around at her siblings. A slight stab of jealousy went through her. They all knew who they were. She couldn't tell anymore. She felt like a boy, but her body was a girl's. She often spend nights awake, thinking and trying to figure out what she was. If you didn't look at her properly, her body was easily masculine and feminine at the same time. She was also yellow. With red splotches. Her wings were heavy and awkward, her paws seemed to grow without her legs. She was skinny where she should be pudgy and pudgy where she should have been skinny. She was hardly a beauty. Not like her sisters, or even her brothers. She was an it. Plain and simple. She didn't fit in anywhere.

Even Tsuchi had gotten Uncle Zegin to ease up a little. It seemed all the adults were taken. Mommy had Seirei, Daddy had Azala, and Tsuchi had Uncle Zegin--though Uncle wasn't all that fond of him. But she managed to pick herself up and followed Tsuchi into the snow. It wasn't too deep, but her wings made it hard for her to jump to another spot. She was going to have trouble keeping up, but she wasn't going to be left behind. She attempted to jump to a knew spot and ended up smacking into her brother. "S-sorry, Tsuchi." She muttered quietly before clumsily hopping away.

She looked back at her mom with a glint in her pale blue eyes that said I'll get the hang of it, don't give up on me yet. though she doubted her mother cared. Seirei was her only concern. Right?

Tempest's words didn't hit the pup too hard, a pair of crimson and yellow eyes glancing up towards his mother without much hesitation. Her voice carried less of a bite to it that when she was being entirely serious, and there was comfort there, and he took full advantage of it. Feathery bangs fell over his eyes as he nodded in response, offering a quiet hum in acknowledgement. He did nothing to remove his hair from his face, simply peering through them at his siblings for a moment before he moved quietly out of his mother's way as she snapped at his sisters, at everyone.

The youngster tilted his head, warmth slipping into his gaze as he looked at his mother. He loved her very much. She had a cold, harsh exterior, but she was still very much his mother, loved her anyway, knowing that would never change Glancing at his father, the warmth in his eyes remained, although he wouldn't be lying if he said he didn't know his father very well, aside from the fact that Azala seemed to be the object of his affections. Seirei didn't dislike the wolf, he had a kind heart and could never hate anything, he simply didn't know really, who his father was. Aside from Tsuchi, Seirei didn't quite understand his siblings, and his willingness to put effort into getting them was not very high. They were all very energetic, where Seirei was not. They had interests and short attention spans, while Seirei simply didn't. He stuck close to his mother, and he was fine with that.

His interaction with Tsuchi, at this point, consisted, mostly of teasing and taunting, but there was something about Tsuchi that Seirei wanted to.. see. To get to know. He wasn't sure where this attraction came form, but as Tempest called them to move forward, Seirei found his thoughts lingering on his brother, following in his mother's footsteps, pushing himself to keep on her heels. His ears tweaked around at the sounds of his siblings questions, their answers, Zegin, his father. Everything, but his mind was elsewhere. On Tsuchi. The way his brother questioned things, the way his brother teased him. He wondered if things would ever change, ticking his bangs from his face with a movement of his head, his eyes falling on his brother.

The cold snapped at him, but Seirei moved as quickly as he could, his eyebrows pushing together as he coughed quietly. There was nothing he could do about it, simply ignoring it and picking up a brisk puppy-lope to move himself up alongside his mother before slowing down slightly. He let out another couch, and another, but he didn't stop moving. Mother told him to move, so he was moving, and he wasn't going to complain, despite his muscles quivering, despite the pain in his chest. Despite the fact that he wanted to veer off and tackle his brother to the ground, and lick his face and tell him how much he loved him, even if all the other pup did was tease him. He loved him anyway.

Re: You're Gonna Go Far, Kid [VA, Pups, Open]

Postby Tempest_Lyght on Thu Jan 05, 2012 11:21 pm

[[Ooc :: Hey, I'll post Tsu later sometime. Temp rants too much man.]]

This was all there was. It was a little disappointing really, but that was fine. Her pups would grow and they could always make more if she needed it. Right now though, she wasn't feeling a need to be around any more members, any more trouble. She had her hands full and didn't need some vamp floating around the pups. It was a silly opinion and she knew it, but she couldn't help the instinct and need to protect them, in her own way. Her internal grumblings about how small the little faction of the VA was, was interrupted by two things. The first was the way Slain called her 'my dear'. This was absolutely ridiculous, and she knew it, but she couldn't help the way she paid extra attention to that. She couldn't help the way it distracted her. It was visible only in a twitch of her ear and it would be the end of the person who called her on it.

The second was considerably more important. Slain mentioned The Hunter. Now, Tempest Lyght knew many things about many things. She had been raised well and was quite fluent in the goings on of the Realm she lived in, or at least she had thought so until she had been Created. Narganya and Fiery Hell had been fabulous teachers... when they weren't absent anyway, and she would never speak ill of them, not one word. But, she had been quite unaware when it came to details about the Vampires. She had come into things knowing little more than 'vampires are despicable creatures and untrustworthy' and their weaknesses. Good lessons, sure, but only one of those becomes useful after you yourself are Turned. It was only through chance that Slain had come across her after that giant vampire meeting and it was only Slain that she learned the rest of her vampire knowledge was. Seriously, Cross was pretty much good-for-nothing, and she was currently even more bitter than before after his previous charade, and he was absent more than Hell and Narg had been combined! He had left his newest Fledgling in charge of his little 'faction', as she had referred to it in her previous thoughts. She had figured that one out as Slain had talked. If this was Cross's VA, then she was definitely leading things, no two ways about that.

So, having found herself the leader of one of the 'big deals' of the Realm, it might have seemed silly for her to be taking such counsel from another, but there was nothing strange in it from where she was standing. See all of this was leading up to the fact that Slain had been the one to teach her about The Hunter. Bringing him up had Tempest hesitating in her step, looking back over her shoulder at the red-splotched male. The Hunter was not a good thing. She also knew, though very little had been said about it, that her children were threatened at every turn. Vampires did not like Half-Vamps in general. Regales were known to kill them, though neither of her boys had or would. Royalty would. She made a mental note to stay as far away from any vampire or Stone meetings as she could for a while at least. And if others knew she was the reason for such offspring? It was something she preferred not to have to deal with. Especially not with such young little maggots.

Tempest made a note of the way Zegin dropped back, the way Slain went ahead to scout and even she was a little surprised by the way they fell into their non-roles. Whether she was a suitable leader wasn't important, though she had been questioning it lately. Tempest had always taken orders. She always knew her place as a subordinate to Hell and Narganya. She had never desired leadership, even if she had never excepted submission to anyone else. It was a strange role she found herself playing. Leaders did not usually find themselves in so many different positions. She was a subordinate in the Black Blood Alliance. She was under Cross's rule, in a sense, but she was leading the Vampire Alliance. She was a vampire and loyal to Cursed Soul. And what loyalties overrode which was the biggest question of them all. Cross and Cursed Soul might be all high and mighty in the vampire world, but they didn't hold a candle to Hell and Narganya.

The snowy female looked over her little rats, her little 'family' - the term was foreign to her - before skipping a quick couple of steps, not expecting them to keep up with her as a new pace, she'd fall back in a minute. She wanted Slain. Coming up beside him, she tilted her head in his direction and dropped her voice from the loud, carrying tone she had been using for a more private conversation. "Indio, other vampires, Evil Wind, lunatics.. Might as well hide them in a hole until they're adults." She grumbled, her voice not loud enough to carry to anyone but the male at her side. It was, perhaps, one of the only times she had admitted out loud to caring about the brats. She had no intention of doing this, no, but it was a tempting immediate fix.

The white snow was slowly turning red from the blood dripping from his side. He didn't feel any pain, but he was panting rather hard. Every couple of inches was painted red. The male didn't care. He reveled in it. In fact, it made him smile the most at the sight of his own blood splattered all over the place. Indeed, this brute was sick in the head...or so it may seem to those who didn't know him. However, in this pitch black night, no one would notice him so easily. His mostly dark pelt made him nearly invisible in the night. It wasn't like he cared. When it came to a good fight, his satisfaction came from how much blood would be spilled. He didn't desire an audience. He didn't wish to draw unwanted and unneeded attention from others. Thankfully, that didn't happen very often. If it did, he wouldn't hesitate to either kill them or scare them so badly that they would flee from the scene.

This most recent assault that he survived from was with a bear protecting her cubs. It wasn't his intent to even create any ruckus. The whole ordeal came about in a very odd way. Whilst minding his own business, a snow fox was running past and happened to run into him. The wolf was in a chase-happy mood that day and decided to have some fun with this fox. Looking down at it, he bared his teeth in the most sadistic of grins and whispered, "Why hello there, little fox." The small creature immediately fled from his reach, and the chase began. He chased it straight into a cave that, unbeknownst to either, was inhabited by a family of polar bears. Before he entered the cave, a roar could be hear from its confines followed by a yelp. The fox was clearly dead. Another roar was heard. This time, much louder. The mother was obviously in a rage that could only be satiated by blood. The wolf bared his teeth once again in that smile. Just what I needed. Come at me!"

"Come at me!" he yelled into the cave. The bear was about twice his size. It charged at him with the intent to kill, and he was ready to tangle with it. When the bear was only mere feet from him, she swung a giant paw at him, which he grabbed a hold of with his teeth. He was swung to and fro until he was thrown against the cave wall. He jumped up from it just as quickly as he was tossed and jumped to grab at the back of the bear's neck. Again, he was shaken off with his head slamming against the rock. He stood up to see that there was blood covering his eyes. Heh...good. A challenge. I like that. The bear was also bleeding from both places that the wolf pierced with his fangs. Once again, he ran at the beast, ready to do even more damage. The fighting kept going much like this. It was a constant back and forth of biting and tossing and running at each other.

After many minutes passed, both were quite bloodied. The bear showed many signs of fatigue as she stumbled in her place, blood dripping from many orifices. A groan emanated from the mother's maw. She was nearly at her end. The wolf appeared to be in just as bad shape, however he still had a glow in his white eyes that showed that he was still able to keep going. He didn't struggle from his injuries that looked like they were enough to kill from blood loss. There was a deep gash in his right side from being struck by the bear, and it was bleeding profusely. The red liquid dripped onto the snow-laden ground at such a rate that it should have made standing a struggle. He instead was standing as though he wasn't hurt at all. His sadistic grin crept over his maw once more as he admired the bear's work...and his own. There were blood splatters in various spots of the cave and out in the snow. Looking at the bear, the wolf said, "You've managed to last this long. Now's the time for your end!"

There was an opening at the bear's throat, and he took the chance to leap up and tear into it like he did so many of his other prey. He latched onto the bear's body with his claws before ripping open the animal's throat and jumping back onto the snow. The battle was over as soon as his feet made contact to the ground. The bear lay in the blood-soaked snow without so much as a twitch. After he spat out what flesh he tore out, the wolf then looked towards the cubs that crawled out from the cave. They cried out their sorrow as they saw their mother's body. The brute didn't take much interest in killing the young ones. He left the area after glaring at the little wretches and said, "Let this be a lesson to you. When you're all grown up and are ready to fight, then you can challenge me, Kijo, to a fight to the death." He flashed a smirk at them before walking away from the scene. The blood that he lost still didn't affect him. At that time and with that much blood lost, it would have killed any normal animal. Kijo, as he named himself, wasn't the typical wolf.

Feeling a sudden urge to run, Kijo began to pick up his pace and run to who knew where. The night sky was still as dark as ever. A nice camouflage. Suddenly, an odd scent filled his nostrils. A scent that was wolf but wasn't at the same time. Suddenly, his legs felt oddly weak. This was indeed something he wasn't used to. Kijo stopped abruptly, sending a small amount of snow flying from skidding. He began feeling dizzy, as well as his sight becoming blurry. Trying to keep himself awake, Kijo stumbled forward enough to see a small number of shapes moving by him. He kept trying to walk until he finally fell forward into the snow. His side was now soaked in blood. I guess I don't know my limit after all... He tried to stand up one last time before falling onto his left side and passing out.

[[Ooc :: Tempest will come tomorrow/later today. I needed to get Tsu up.]]

"Oof!" Tsuchi, so focused on the way his aura was slyly following Seirei before him, was thrust quite inelegantly face first into the snow. It might not have been so bad if the snow had been a little deeper, 'cause that hurt, man. He lifted his head and shook himself off as his sister-thing apologized for her grave error. Pale yellow eyes narrowed as they fell on his golden sister and he gave a growl. It should have been deep and he fully imagined it was, but in all reality with his little frame it was simply laughable. Perhaps not for GoldMoon though. He took off after her in a grand showcase of how surefooted he was, even at this age. His aura quickly took the lead, reaching out like the hand he didn't have. "I'm going to kill you for that Goldie!"

This wasn't play, he was totally serious, he'd swear to it. And then begrudgingly admit that he had no true intention of hurting her at all, if he was really pressed for it. A few more romps in the snow and he was quickly side-tracked by Seirei being tantalyzingly close. He couldn't help stopping abruptly beside him and showering him with little bits of snow. He really wanted to pounce him, but he didn't think that would go over so well with their mother. Tsuchi gave a smile that was the same thing as sticking his tongue out at him, and allowed his aura to swirl its way around his brother's neck before taking off in the other direction after Goldie again.

"Tsuchi," his mother called him and he stopped in his tracks, right before he caught back up to his sister. "Don't make idle threats and don't kill your sister over something so... simple." She said it like what she really wanted to say was 'stop being so stupid, you're embarrassing me'. No matter what she did or didn't mean, he answered her all the same with ears back and tail tucked in apology. "Yes, mother," she expected nothing less from them. He gave Goldie a look that said how he was really disappointed that their game had been interrupted and returned to walking with the group like a normal, good boy.

((Omg. Zegin is such a butt sometimes.
And I needed to push Goldie's mania into starting form.))

Covering tracks was a simple task for the Son, but it was work and he really didn’t want to be doing it. But he did his best, dashing here and there to cover and smudge the tracks, making the path they were taking nearly indiscernible in direction. And it wasn’t the dashing that made him tired, no it was the damn GAMES the pups insisted on playing. Made his job pretty friggin hard and frankly he just wanted to grab them and throw them on the correct path. And he just about had enough of them when Mutant ran into Mud and that triggered another tag game that had them circling him and messing up his trails.

F*ckin Fantastic.
No really.
It was TOTALLY helping his job.

But Tempest stopped them and Zegin took the opportunity to use his head to practically smack Mud and Mutant forward like they were hockey pucks. “Keep moving.” He reminded with a voice that said if you don’t I will eat you. Mutant slipped. Oh, you poor thing, you want a hug? Let Uncle Zegin give you one, with his jaws. Good. You’d better move. Once they had put some distance between him and them he resumed his job, dashing from spot to spot to cover their tracks. He also dusted the snow over some of the tracks to make them look older than they were and stopped for a moment to sniff around.

He caught the scent of blood nearby and he looked in the direction of the scent. “Hey, Slain, Tempest!” He shouted. “You smell that? Smells interesting.” He asked rhetorically as he trotted over to the scent of the blood. There he found a bloody male laying there and he sat down. He had some awful wounds and smelled like bear’s blood. The Son raised an eyebrow and looked boredly over his shoulder at the two other adults following him. “I changed my mind. It’s nothing interesting.” He said before back up. “Looks dead. Are the maggots hungry?” He asked, totally oblivious to the fact the brute may still be alive. “May be a while before we find another convenient meal like this.” He commented with an expression that said something along the lines of this is stupid, can I go home?.

--

She hadn’t meant to interrupt Tsuchi playing with Seirei, honestly! And she had apologized, hadn’t she? But her brother growled and her eyes almost immediately dilated in fear as he charged her. She scrambled away as fast (and awkwardly) as she could and tried her best to get away. Her brother was going to kill her! She was going to die! Panic filled her body as she ran, never once considering that her brother may just have been playing. He said he was going to kill her and she believed him. His aura was just barely touching her legs and she pushed to go a little faster, but only ended up tripping and ending up belly up on the ground.

Her brother charged at her and she stared at him with her ears back and terror stricken across her face. She was going to die. But her mother’s voice stopped him and she curled up in a defensive position. Her mother told him not to kill her over a stupid reason. So he could kill her over a serious reason? Well....if mother said so. “Yes, Mother.” She muttered quietly, voice still cracked with from the run and the terror she felt. But she was stood pushed across the ice like a toy at her uncle snapped at her to keep moving and she whimpered, but did so. But as soon as she stood she tripped again and she heard her uncle’s irritated growl which sent her in a short sprint to gain distance on him.

Mother said they could die and Tsuchi could kill her for a serious reason. So....to protect herself, she’d have to be perfect. Yes. Perfect. She could be perfect, couldn’t she? Her wings caught the slight breeze as if saying ‘you’ll never do it, you freak’ and she looked down, pushing herself forward. But then everyone was diverted and she followed silently behind the group, staying a good distance away from both parents and her uncle. She was curious, but it was not a sign of perfection to be nosy. So she waited for permission from her parents to approach.

She was going to be perfect.
Then she would be allowed to live.
