The sun made its way below the horizon, day’s final rays casting a beautiful iridescent gleam across the sand dunes of the desert, sending them into an otherworldly realm of deep, dark shadows to contrast the warm orange hue, making the terrain, normally barren and lonely in the daylight, look gorgeous. And as that bright, celestial orb continued its descent, the gradient changed from sunset's beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows to the softer yellows, greens, and blues, until finally dusk set in, and the only light remaining came from the shining moon up above.

It was then that, from beneath the sand, a dark, black paw emerged, scraping through the earth and ripping its way free. One paw was followed by another, and together they dug, unburying the body that they were attached to from the hidden cavern beneath the dunes. Now that the sun was down, he was up.

The Regale’s head broke the surface in no time, his dark, blood-red fur sprinkled with the contrasting white of the desert’s sand. With relative ease, the Vampire pulled his body from the tomb in which he’d been hiding from the sun that day, and with one mighty shake, the sand caked into his coat flew free, leaving him standing regally atop the barren dune.

Bloodshot grey darted around, while his head was held low and his fangs bared. To and fro he searched, calmly turning circles around the hole in the earth. His head turned this way, then that, his ears pricked up and swiveled about, searching for him. The wind brought the scents of the deserted landscape to his attention, and though there was nothing amiss, nothing foreign, the vampire was not convinced. He walked away, toward the smell of vegetation not far off from the edge of the desert. He was so close to the grassland, but that didn’t matter. He wasn’t alone, and that thought unnerved him. He was still there…

Twenty years later, and he knew, just knew that Zoxan was out there… watching… waiting.

The thought was enough to make Tiger Blood violent, and his fur prickled at nothing more than a memory. A snarl rose to his lips, enunciating his vicious fangs, and he growled to himself. Zoxan… Oh, that salt-and-pepper male was out there somewhere. There was no way he wouldn’t be--pure evil like that didn’t die easily. Hell, for all the Regale knew, it didn’t die at all.

No one believed him. No one had taken the time to consider it. After meeting up with the band of Desert Vampires, it had become more clear than ever that Tiger Blood was still alone. For twenty years all he’d hoped for was a little company, all he’d wanted was to hear a voice other than the spiteful one in his head telling him to keep moving forward, but even when that wish had been granted nothing had changed. Zoxan was nothing but a figment of his imagination, they’d said, but they were wrong.

They hadn’t been there. They hadn’t seen that world, in its perpetual twilight (a twilight that didn’t hurt him, for some odd reason). They hadn’t seen Zoxan, standing there with that sinister grin upon his face (oh why hadn’t Tiger Blood realized his traitorous ways before? Only monsters were allowed to walk on that land--that’s why Fate hadn’t been able to help him through). They hadn’t seen Tiger Fang, trapped within that cage of bones, with her forelegs sliced up by her own fangs to lead him to her, the scent of her blood--of his blood--showing him the way…

Tiger Fang.

That was a bittersweet name, for sure. His twin, his beloved Tiger Fang, where was she now? A second snarl crept upon his face as he strode onward, coming closer and closer to a less desolate land, but that did little comfort. No, little did much to comfort Tiger Blood anymore. He’d been left for dead, abandoned in the demon world, and forgotten. His own sister, no less, had given up on him.

Had he given up on her?

No.

Wow, sis. Thanks for the support.

Nothing had been able to keep the Regale away. Tiger Fang meant--had meant--the world to him, and now she’d shown just how appreciated he was. He missed her like mad, and the thought that she didn’t care drove him to the very edge of insanity; a ledge, by the way, upon which he’d been sitting for nearly twenty years now. He’d been back in this world, the one he’d been born into, for less than two weeks, fourteen days of fruitless searching.

Tiger Fang he growled to himself. I’ll find you…

He wasn’t sure what he’d do if that day ever came. Would he rejoice, or would he snarl upon her, drive his fangs into her to punish her for forgetting about him? Would she be happy to see him, or run in fear, knowing that, for twenty years, he suffered in that forgotten, desolate land somewhere between earth and hell?

Ah, it was all just enough to make him…

SCREAM.

And scream he did. As his paws fell upon the first blades of grass at the edge of that desert, Tiger Blood stopped and let out a horrible yell. Nothing friendly. Nothing beckoning. It was no more than pure, unobstructed rage pouring from his jaws into the night. Though he’d left that realm of desolation and loneliness behind him, the demon world still felt close at hand, a part of him that he could never quite get rid of, no matter how hard he tried, and the fact that he was still alone stung like hell.

No, he didn’t want company. He didn’t need company. Some horrible, masochistic part of him, wanted nothing more than to find his sister again, whether it be to kill or kiss her.

Tiger Fang was all he lived for now, and even then, he wasn’t sure exactly why.

((I missed my paranoid Regale, so I decided to throw him out there. Come play with me! It's "mature" for possible language (Tiger Blood is not a happy campter). Be aware, I don't intend to turn anyone INTO a vampire in this thread, so don't come in if that's what you hope to achieve. This is basically just a quick, fun little thread until I find something bit to put this boy in. :D))

Axl was bored. Mind-numbingly so, in fact. Since the last time she had been outside, quite a few things had changed. The most pressing matter, of course, was the disappearance of her father. Sutekh was gone; wiped out as though he had never existed. Hair, nor hide, was left behind, and though it hurt to even think it, she had a horrible sense of foreboding when it came to her family. She had waited it out, patiently, but to no avail. It was time for her to face the facts; she was alone now, and despite the desire to stay, there was nothing to keep her here any longer.

Nostrils quivered in the evening breeze, as placid lavender eyes fell upon a figure in the distance, and her tail waved slightly. So, it seemed, not everybody had left after all. It was the figure of Tiger Blood, the vampire who's arrival had started this whole bloody mess. Not that she had anything against the crimson and black vampire... she was just hesitant to trust him. He was not of her race... nor was he as beautiful as Desert Vampires were. It made her suspicious, but not entirely wary of him. As such, she padded forward, her strides making no sound as she crossed the terrain. Her paws, with their natural webbing, allowed for easy traction, and she gracefully strode closer to the vampire.

Not knowing how he would react to her presence, she spoke softly, with a hint of upper-class arrogance as she came closer. "Hello, strangerrr." She purred the last word, much like a feline, before she easily moved closer, looking up at him. "It is a nice night, no?" Ears perked forward, as she studied him with that gentle, almost loving gaze. She was a peaceful creature, as were all of her race. Delicate, elfin features looked at him with unabashed curiosity.

"You... you are like us, but you are not. Familiar, but unfamiliar. What are you?" It was not a tone of anger; rather, one that was so meek it was not even a firm request. She was never pushy. "We... we were never introduced, back there. I am Axl... what is your name?"

One powerful, black paw brought him a little bit further into the meadow, followed by another, and slowly the sand was left behind him, and the Regale vampire exhaled a deep, exasperated sigh. God... It was always so warm here. The heat was dry and painful against his lungs as he took in a long, slow breath and looked up at the sky. His grey eyes were narrowed, angry at the world, but suddenly something caught his attention.

Behind him... He could hear those footsteps through the snow. The soft 'swoosh' of the grains of sand sliding against one another in perfect harmony as a body made it's way across the terrain sounded crystal clear to the Regale's hyper sensitive senses, and at once his muscles tensed and his lips rose into a small snarl.

This was it... It had to be him! It had to be Zoxan!

Subtly, little things about Tiger Blood changes. His heartbeat quickened, his fur stood up on end, and his muscles twitched with anticipation for the attack that was sure to come, and Blood was ready for it. Zoxan wouldn't get the best of him this time! Hah! Did he think that, with his Regale senses, that Tiger Blood would not hear his approach? Did he really expect this to be so easy?

Apparently so, for he came closer, and closer, and all the while Tiger Blood did not turn around. No... This time, Zoxan would be the one caught off guard.

"Hello, strangerrr."

In an instant he leapt around, his jowls set in a horrible snarl, vampiric fangs exposed, gleaming in the faint moonlight, and his gaze fell upon... Ah, f*ck, his gaze fell upon a fae from the Desert Vampire Pack. This, most certainly, was not Zoxan, unless the poor bastard had learned to shape shift. Tiger Blood highly doubted that. However, his anxiety did not fall, and he did not relax--oh no. Not when he was already so on edge.

Her arrogance and pompous nature did little to affect the Regale; he just stared at her, letting his snarl fall and the expression was replaced with one of dark apathy. A brow twitching vaguely upward at the comment on the weather, Tiger Blood rolled his eyes and turned away. God, he didn't have time for this.

But she didn't give up.

"You... you are like us, but you are not. Familiar, but unfamiliar. What are you? We... we were never introduced, back there. I am Axl... what is your name?"

As quiet and reserved as her voice was, the blood-red male was lucky to have heard it. But he didn't acknowledge her request. He didn't even turn back to face her. He just continued to walk on, into the grassland before him, his black-tipped tail held stagnant and his obsidian ears flicked forward. He was on a mission, a journey, and he wasn't going to be held back.

"Why don't you go home to your family, Axl," he said. The tone with which Tiger Blood spoke was surprisingly contrary to his temperament and behavior. Here was where the old Blood came forth. He didn't have a particularly masculine voice, and it certainly wasn't hostile. The words were soft, and, in other circumstances may have been considered friendly. Today, however, they sounded no more than tired. "I bet they miss you."

His heart ached for a minute, a horrible mixture of resentment and longing, at the thought.

Where the hell are you, Fang?

(( Welcome...Bijou. It's short. I know. I gotta get use to rping a snake.))

The night was soft and sweet. Warm and bright, it was a perfect night for a snake. Yep..I said it. Snake. Not a wolf who morphed into a snake, nor a special powered snake. Just a snake. A Tasmanian Tiger Snake to be exact. He was beautifully painted black with faint yellow stripes lingers along his long slender body. Black pupils glanced around slowly, as he flickered his tongue against the blades of grass that laid before him. Slithering slowly along the ground, he kept his attention out for anything interesting tonight.

Nearing the desert, he lifted his body slightly, to peer ahead. Flicking his tongue slightly, vibrations shook his body lightly. Hmm... so somebody is near. As the thought brushed his mind, another set of vibrations obtained him. These were slightly different though, thus making it someone else had joined the scene. a light chuckle softly left his body, making his head bend towards his body and bob slightly. Lowering himself back to the ground, he slithered across the area, until he came close to the area where the two wolves were.

Looking around slightly, he moved silently to a thin tree that was near both of them. Curling himself around the tree, he climbed it until he was at a branch near their heads. Wrapping himself around the branch, he lowered his head towards them slightly a light hiss echoed in the air briefly, followed by a low chuckle.

" Well...wolvesss I see. How amusing. Shouldn't you be...hunting deer or something? That's what you hunt isn't it? Ssso, what brings you two out here?"
Appearance has changed. I need to update this!!!
