[ooc: Right now this is private with Cross. Also - only mutants can join when I say so. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rest of everyone, so right now no one but Cross is to post in here. ]

It was dawn, barely breaking as she slept in the shadows. If her molecules hadn’t been blended into the darkness one might have seen her dark green body twitching with fits in her sleep. Nothing came peaceful anymore. Always haunted by those memories and voices. Murder A sigh came from somewhere within the unseen and she woke.

A maw appeared first, then slowly the rest of her head. Ice blue orbs shot daggers around the clearing as the rest of her body formed itself. Soon a she-wolf stood shaking the sleep from her fur. It was a new day, but that didn’t really matter. The work was not done and her soul still sat unsettled.

Queen of Mutants…

Queen she may be but her followers were less than up to snuff. She wouldn’t think of them now, though. Left them in the other path arguing amongst each other; they could find her if they wished. She wasn’t a babysitter. Only one of them was even true to the core loyal to her. Loyalty was hard to test, especially among the stupidity that held them there.

Muscles in paws flexed and moved slightly. She was restless. Dune’s children were still running free. Dune still had his minions to destroy this world with their warped view. Ivory killers showed beneath her upturned lip. Dune was a killer. …Killer… Head shook before thoughts could go further than that. Self-control was a must.

She had to cleanse the breed. Wipe out any and all remnants of the sand father. His followers, whether knowingly or not, needed to be exterminated for their allegiance. And they would be, even if Nosredna herself had to go through the realm and bring their deaths one by one.

The sun rose now and the queen looked inside her mind. Dots showed up there and she could tell that the gathering of ‘loyal ones’, she snorted at that thought, were still in the same place. Small dots around in other places, some fuzzier and some, she was sure, that existed off the map of her mind. Too bad the disloyal ones weren’t as bright as the ‘loyal’ ones. It would make finding them easier.

She concentrated for a moment, sending out nonverbal signals through her mind – touching all who were connected to her through blood. Perhaps she’d get lucky and one would wander close enough to her so she could make an example. The others could stay where they were for now, she didn’t need them. Though if their dots turned fuzzier she would find them too in time and end them.

She had all the time in the world.

She would make her love right.

[[[ ooc: Short 'n sweet. <3 ]]]

The morning started out grand. Vibrantly painted purple and red skies, a pleasant breeze sweeping over the terrain in welcoming waves of tranquility, small flocks of miscellaneous birds greeting their youngsters to another morn...it was something you never got used to, and always rose to greet every day. This one was no different.

The smell of rotting carcass teased Meth out of a restful slumber. The pains in his stomach told him it was time to get up, eat, and watch the sun rise as he did every day, but his heart's erratic thumping told him he had somewhere else to be.

But...this could not be true.

Meth snapped to attention and quickly elevated his head, swirling orbs of yellow cautious of everything around him. He peered through limbs and leaves, paranoid someone was watching. There was no movement aside from his whiskers quivering in the breeze and the radaresque flux of his ears, but he still felt as if eyes were piecing into him from all sides. To say the least, he didn't like it. The large hyena-like male shuffled from the thick limb stemming off the tree he chose for sleep, using his earthy talons as leverage, and slithered elegantly down its girth.

His landing was, as always, supple and lithe; curiously unlike any other equaling his height or mass. The terrain flattened under his paws as he stepped from the trunk, and he could feel the spring of newly sprouted grass under his mitts as he instinctively followed the pull which beckoned him. There was nothing holding him back, nothing he loved keeping him from going - he was a rogue, after all - so sure, he'd bite the bait.

Traversing through unfamiliar lands was something Meth was accustomed to, but anyone who came to the border of the Mutant's territory and didn't feel slight panic, or the foreboding presage of ominous creatures prowling in the shadows, was either clueless or dumb. Heck, he figured being here in of itself was dumb.

His first encounter with the border proved a disaster. As he stepped from the tall grass into the territory a group of raven's attacked and seemed intent on removing his eyes. One even caused him to stumble over a rather sharp boulder. They didn't give him time to recuperate before a second wave fell upon his shoulder's, sending him scampering back into the safety of the grass.

The pulling sensation intensified, he couldn't afford anymore delays...if he didn't find what was calling him he would pop! After a few moments passed he tried again, this time slinking through the grass as he made his way around the gathering of crows. When he was out of site he made a dip into the foliage, darting quickly into a thick mass of tree's to avoid detection.

No less than five minutes later Meth found what was summoning him. At first he mistook her for a shadow playing tricks on his eyes. It wasn't until he passed through a sunbeam peaking between moss covered limbs that he realized she was real. It did not startle him, but instead entrenched a deep sense of peace.

Of course his first impression was love. Why? Why do you think? She was he, as he was her. He could feel her power; her hatred; her refined sense of determination. He wanted to be closer to her, to feel the heat of her body against his.
one...
His second impression was hatred. Hatred at the fact he could feel such love upon first encounter. He did not want his emotions to react in such a way, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to kill her; to bathe in the coppery flavor of her blood. He wanted to watch her suffer beneath his paws; to beg for the life HE let her live.
two...
Next was jealousy. She had power; knowledge; divine beauty in a petite package. She could summon him from dead of sleep right where she stood.
three...

Such were his thoughts for a mere three seconds. Time to get a nice look over and take a breath before he spoke. "I am known as Meth." He didn't wait for her to speak first. She had summoned him here, and so had made first contact...besides, he knew how irritating conversation could be.

[ooc: You make me giggle dear Crossie. <3]

She stood and waited, though not for long. Senses could feel him coming before he was there before her. Ice orbs watched as the expression on his face turned from one emotion to the next. Oh yes, he was definitely one of Dune’s children… A small growl formed in her throat but she forced it down – this was no time to let emotions get in the way of what needed to be done.

‘I am known as Meth.’

The gaze in her orbs shot through him inspecting this traitor to their kind. Yes, he was mutant – she could feel that in her very core, along with a sad sort of something that might have once upon a time called itself love. But this shadow Queen could love no more. Dark green body moved slowly so she was facing him full on. It was a silent movement.

“Hello Meth.”

Her voice was cold, barely above freezing. The beautiful face he would see would strike in comparison. The love in his system, for she knew he loved her even if he wished not to. Something was different here though – he seemed to not really know who it was that called upon him to a strange place with those icy eyes.

She was a mystery to him, and for a slight second that interested her. Even those of Dune’s blood had to know those of Martyr’s existed. The one Aphrodite had killed had known, and had fought. They weren’t stupid, per se, just aligned with a killer…

Once again a snarl fought to show on her face but she controlled it. This one would be the example then. But first, he must be educated – for it was simply no fun to fight with someone who knew nothing of what they’d done. Nothing of the damage their beloved father had caused in this world. The shadows would not love again, and someone must pay for it.

“I am Nosredna, Queen of Mutants,” the title tasted sour on her tongue. Princess would have been much better… Thoughts strayed for only a second before she continued in that same cold tone. “Do you know what you are, Meth? Do you know of the great injustice that was performed upon this world? I would assume not. But perhaps you wonder why every cell in your body loves me unconditionally when it would seem we have just met?”

A smirk formed upon those deep emerald lips. “There is much you need to learn…”

[[[i know it's a shooort reply, but i promised this for you on thursday...so i sort of rushed it. it just sort of..stops at the end. like, abruptly. XD]]]

Meth took the Queen's first gaze without a flinch, his own dizzying yellow and blues reflecting their intensity, though with - perhaps - reciprocating emotions. It wasn't for another few seconds before she replied, so he took the opportunity and introduced himself to her environment, taking note of all the tree's, rocks, irregularities of the soil, etc, before returning to her face.
A face which, even when he blinked, bore daggers deep into his eye sockets.

When she at last spoke, her voice sent a chill down his spine and made the hair along his scruff stand on end. Maybe it wasn't such a smart idea giving her his name...
"Hello Meth."

His love was coated; painted with CAUTIOUS!, un-assured vibrant colours that made it hard for him to think. He gave a slight nod..slow..stiff...immeasurably painful to give to one he half suspected was neurotic. If one weren't looking at the emerald female's eyes they'd assume normality...just the same ol' same ol' you see every day.

It wasn't until you peered into the eyes of death you knew to look past 'norm' and deeper into that place holding your sanity together.
Meth had been there before.

[colorr=green]"I am Nosredna, Queen of Mutants,"[/color]

Queen of what? Did she just say what I think she did? His brows furrowed slightly in ponderment, and immediately deciphered those first emotions in which he'd showed upon arrival. We must be related...
Her next words he answered silently, rolling the possibilities of why she'd contacted him around his head.

“Do you know what you are, Meth? No, but I bet you'll tell me wontcha? Do you know of the great injustice that was performed upon this world? How could I, I don't even know you? I would assume not. But perhaps you wonder why every cell in your body loves me unconditionally when it would seem we have just met?”

The last question he not only answered to himself, but out loud as well..for he didn't know her wrath as other mutant's did; and of course he didn't know that even an insolent 'tail-wag' was liable to set her off...
"You're either lust incarnate, or we're somehow related."

He smiled then, but even this smile had it's limits. She exuded something that just didn't fit well with him, he was wont to know what, but then again.... he was just as willing to flee to safety...

The emerald female waited for Meth’s reply. Those ice blue orbs surveyed him and took in the signs of his uneasiness. Yes, this was definitely one of Dune’s. Every molecule in her shook with the intent of kill, to lunge at him, to take care of this blemish to Martyr’s name. But this was no time to be rash – she would wait, harbor her hate and slowly feed it out.

It was then he answered.

‘You’re either lust incarnate, or we’re somehow related.’

A slight cackle found its way out of her mouth then, not a joyous sound by any nature. This one definitely had an interesting take on things… She would wait a bit longer, yesss. Pacing slightly she stood in front of him again, muscled tightened in a powerful stance. Those eyes though which no good feeling could be seen reflected something from within her.

“Well, I’m not lust incarnate,” her head ticked to the left slightly at the absurd but amusing thought. “So it’d be the last one.” Her smile widened showing off her ivory teeth, which glittered in the light. Indeed they were related… but he was not her son. Never would he be her son.

Nosredna’s mind refused to take on this title more than she had to. These were not her children, and those of Dune? Were even less her children. Thinking back to the few that had followed her this far her mind snorted, yeah, great children… Thoughts returned to the present and she bored down on Meth once more.

“Let’s start simple then, shall we? You, Meth, are a mutant. Born from Dune and Martyr,” Nosredna’s mind crinkled at the thought of Dune once more, this job definitely was touching too many of the buttons inside her that hated to be poked.

Murder….

Shut up.

She continued then, showing none of the conflict that happened within the maze of her mind. “You are of an evil breed, a blood thirsty breed, who’s last Queen was slaughtered by her mate.” Ice blue orbs looked on at him in an accusing way. Her tone was hard once more, lashing out at him in a rigid manner.

“What do you make of that, Meth?”

Her tone said it all in that moment, he should be careful where he trod in these next answering words. The wrong thing said? And she would loose her temper, and control over the situation.
