I recently found this site whilst researching a project on world hunger. It’s quite a wonderful and innovative site, and you should all try it.

There will be a word in boldface with four other words underneath. Choose the closest synonym, and sponsors will donate twenty grains of rice to the UN World Food Program. It’s a great way to help people in need while also helping yourself a little bit, too.

I can think of ways to learn words that don't contribute to overpopulation and aren't so incredibly boring. Like... just about all of them except this.

Hmmm… yeah, I s’pose you could always read the dictionary, but being able to do something so simple in order to give food to starving children so at least they don’t have to be hungry as they die from malaria sounds like an okay thing to me.
